It was a normal Wednesday, bit chilly, but ok, and four teenagers were meeting up to travel on the train down to Reading, where they would soon be attending the Reading Festival 2004. The four teenagers were:

  • Adam 'the hip one' Carrico
  • Bryn 'the hippy' Russell
  • Calum 'the bringer of HARIBO' Seaman
  • Rob 'just waiting to fight some kids in the mosh pits' Knowles

A fifth person was to be joining our quest that night, and she was:

  • Ceri 'Bryns sister, i dont really know her that well' Russell

With their train tickets at the ready, their big rucksacks and their tents, they set off, into the train station, knowing that in 24 hours they would be setting up their tents at the Reading Festival 2004....

Some Funny Stories...

The story that sticks in my mind the most occured on the Saturday night...
it must have been about midnight, most likely later, and me and Bryn decided to go on a little adventure around the campsite...soon enough we were lost. But we came across a gathering a people with one person standing at the front holding a rather large flame thing. 'hmm' we thought to ourselves, Bryn enquired what was going on, and found out that the dude with the flame was infact the messiah, his name was George, and the people were his followers...we decided to tag along...
The messiah, George, and his followers (including me and Bryn) would walk around the campsite, and every so often George would turn around, and we'd all get on one knee, and George would tell a joke, upon hearing the punch line we would all cheer and the process would start over again.
After about 20mins someone decided to insult/attack George and about 5-10 of his followers chased this guy down and beat him...
Eventually the bastards that are the security split the whole thing up, and it just kinda fell apart after i'd say about 40mins of following this guy through the mud....
T'was a glorious night....

Another funny occurance was the Sunday night, when we were all wondering around the campsite, completely off our tits...we came to the main entrance area, and we joined in with a group of people singing Christmas carols in a huge circle...dont ask...

Again on the Sunday night,  me, Bryn and Rob took part in a three way limbo, basically some people were having a limbo contest, and me and Rob were having to hold Bryn up cause he couldnt walk for shit, so we kinda wondered off and did the limbo whilst holding up Bryn, was quite an achievement if you ask me...

There was also the Dave Rave, where everyone was partying in a group and everyone had to be called Dave, even if you werent actually called Dave...

Erm...there was The Universe in a Tent...that was rather amusing...dont even ask....

Erm not sure which night it was...but me and Rob somehow along with a group of guys managed to get two girls to make out together, topless, we only had to chip in a lil bit of change each...was bloody brilliant.....i have photos of it...but they're mine, all mine!!

The two guys camped next to us who dressed up in bin bags and literally dived into the mud to allow women to walk across them without getting muddy, they were brilliant...

The group of guys sharing a tent behind us who kept shouting ' I AM SPARTACUS!!' at the tops of their voices every so often, they were cool ...and rather disturbing...

Erm the guy that woke me up on Friday morning shouting...'Buy or sell free friends' and 'I've got friends for sale'...he was a dude, plus he was wearing a scuba diving suit, so yeah....

ooo when the guys next to us had a huge gathering and burned their little pink castle thing and loads of other crap, which they then proceeded to run and jump over...retards...

The dude that me and Ceri watched fall flat into a huge mud puddle, when there was plenty of space to walk around it, it was an accident ofcourse, but it was hilarious none the less...

Erm when me, Bryn and Rob made 'Glow Stick Suits' by attatching glow sticks to ourselves with duck tape, and then proceeded to run around the camp site, they didnt last long, but they are a brilliant way to make friends with random people....

erm all the people who were giving out free hugs, free hand shakes, free high fives and free compliments were all very....scary.....

erm Bryn pushing me backwards through a mosh pit during Placebo...wait that wasnt fun....cause i tripped over someones leg...*pulls angry face*

A big thank you to the girl that poured Vodka into my can of Carling, you officially sent me over the edge on the Sunday night....

......see this is what happens with one swig of Absinthe....mayhem, absolute mayhem....it was nice though, the Absinthe that is......
